Experimental and numerical evaluation of tire rubber powder effectiveness for reducing seepage rate in earth dams

Abstract Tires waste is an undesirable urban industry surplus that has grown worldwide yearly. Because of its seals, this material may be used in earth dams, one option for disposing waste. Since the main objective study, experiment on a soil sample with various ratios rubber powder been conducted to better comprehend impact tire (TRP) seepage rate earthen dams. This study physical and numerical models investigate through Analysis indicates plotted line SEEP/W software was comparable observed model. TRP tested at concentrations 15, 30, 50%. The research demonstrates there noticeable improvement reducing dam’s body; decreased by 11.28% when 15% ratio adopted, far smaller than other percentages. proportion consequently raised 30%. found reduced 35.6%, 50% showed excellent behavior lowering water level (phreatic line) from core point downstream face D / S 41.5%, producing significantly results. findings indicate relative error varies, averaging 11.8% first model, 12.18% second, 1.65% third, 7.63% fourth. second models’ (relative inaccuracy) dramatically increased as result presence piping.
